In 2019, actor/artist Matt Dillon (*1964 in New Rochelle, NY) and painter Marcel Hüppauff, born in Stuttgart in 1972, began their artistic collaboration. At irregular intervals, in Hamburg, Rome or New York, they either worked shoulder to shoulder in the studio or exchanged ideas remotely by telephone. The cooperation consists of a continuous dialog about their own artistic work and goes beyond this; their own handwriting is transcended in joint paintings. On display are paintings, drawings, collages and linocuts.
The artist’s book of the same name with original linocuts by both artists, which was also created in a mutual, joint process, will also be presented at the opening. It is published by LUBOK Verlag and was printed on the President cylinder press by Thomas Siemon (carpe plumbum).
