To wander and to dream

The two painters Claudia Rößger and Yvette Kießling seem to pursue almost diametrically opposed artistic approaches: While Rößger creates her images in the studio and carries them inside herself for a long time before formulating them on canvas in a searching process, Kießling takes the opposite approach. She finds her objects directly in nature – often in the tropical vegetation of Tanzania, where she works regularly, but also in extraordinary European natural landscapes such as high moors, river springs and estuaries.
